12:10 AM
It's 12.23am. I have a 8am lecture and I'm staying up to help my friend do his MA2108S tutorial.
I should be sleeping now, but I haven't even changed.
Sometimes you wonder why you help people so much. You know you're not getting back anything in return. Yet, you sacrifice so much of your time just to make sure the person gets all the help the person needs. Then, the person says thanks, and that's the end of the story.
In situations like these, you wonder why you even bothered to help at all. That's the case with me sometimes.
Prov 19:17 says "He who has pity on the poor lends to the LORD, and He will pay back what he has given."
Here Solomon describes helping the poor as lending to the LORD. When we think of it that way, we do not worry for ourselves, because the Bible promises that God will repay us. This is the assurance that we can have.
I guess when it comes to helping people, it's analogous. At least, that's why I still continue to do what I do. And I like it. I like helping people. The feeling you get after someone gets his/her problem solved... it's indescribably amazing... for me, there's none like it in the world.
After all's said and done, I still need to sleep!!!
