The journey upnorth was err.. shall I say, fulfilling. I woke up early in the morning excited. It was my first time in a loooooooooong time being there, and the thought of actually spending time up there was enough to get me going.
Sleepy as I was, I couldn't care much. I told myself I can sleep in the bus, it didn't matter.
Dad drove me all the way to BU to the Bus Terminal. I exchanged my booking itinerary for a ticket, got on the bus, and off we went.
Of course, before that I bought a stick with 3 cucur udangs and ate em on the bus. So, when they served that mini-sized Turkey Ham Subway Sandwich, I left it till 12pm to eat. Took it as my lunch, together with a cup of Milo I ordered. After that, I alternated between bouts of zzz and Happy Feet on the TV. Of course, I caught more zzz's than feet tapping. Spammed messages with my friends coz I was bored.
Five hours later, I arrived. I called my friend to check if he's arrived to pick me up. And he was. That. Was the first time in a long time I stepped foot on Penang soil.
Day 1Went back to Kenny's house. Funny thing. I actually pictured it to be some funky Terrace or Semi-D or something.. I mean, an actual house, and that I'll be sleeping in the guest room... but when we arrived, I was like, oh. It's just an apartment. Ok. Heh.
Btw, for those Penangnites reading, his house is just opposite SuperTanker. Haha. I heard everyone knows it, so there!Well, as usual, Kenny's same question everytime. What's the plan?!?!Well, actually he just took me out for err... lunch? I'd consider tea. We went to pick up Sharks as well. Ate the Penang Hokkien Mee and tried that Penang specialty drink - Hampalang Siewbui. At least, it sounded like that first time I heard it. ROFL. Then we went to look for Jalan Helang to find the church building I'll be going to the next morning. And then we went back, and he asked. What's the plan?!?!It was late in the evening. So all I could say was, LIVERPOOL!!!!
We went out for dinner at the Cherry Blossoms with Kenny's family and that's when we realized that the Liverpool game was at 1.25am.I think Kenny spoke well when he said, "SLEEP LA!!!"
Day 2Guess what? Kenny was SICK!!!I went to worship with the Penang Church of Christ. Preached there, on the Value of Truth. Members were encouraged, so I guess it was good. After that, CHURCH LUNCH!!!
Yummy!!! Met a few members from there as well. Allegedly, Andrew is working at Bukit Raja. But he doesn't go to Klang. He worships with Subang COC. Woh Yon is from KL, but she's studying at USM. So she'll be with the Penang church for awhile.I went back after that, and stayed there. Kenny was bed-ridden. Fever till want to die like tat. So we couldn't go through with our Kek Lok Si and Penang Hill visit. So what did I do? Smallville!!!
Watched 2 episodes, played Velocity, then Kenny put on 2 DVDs for me to watch - The Click and Paycheck. Interesting shows!!Day 3Supposed to go pick Sharks up and eat breakfast at 10+. But, at 10am, guess where Kenny was? I'll give you a hint. It was where he mostly was yesterday.
Yup. Freaking sleepy head was still in bed at 10am. Grrr...So anyway, we picked up Sharks and went to eat Dim Sum.After that, we went to St. Xavier, Him Heang and Penang Hill. Guess what happened immediately after we reached the top of Penang Hill? Woohoo. It rained. That was cool. Know why? What comes after a rain?
It was just magnificent!!! Hardly anyone can ever say, "I went up Penang Hill and saw a rainbow!" But I can!! Coz I did!!! YEAH!!!So after that, we headed off to Gurney. Entered Gurney Plaza, and heyhey!!! Guess who we met right there??? I'll give you a hint: She's sweet, beautiful, smart and has one of the most beautiful smiles I've ever seen.
Ok, so our meeting wasn't a coincidence. Haha. She seemed extremely busy during the holidays, so we didn't have time to do anything but just eat, talk, and walk around Gurney Plaza and the new wing.End of Day 3.Day 4Went to Kek Lok Si. Went back Kenny's house to pack. Went to bus station. Went back to Klang. All in all, it was a great trip, despite the fact that I couldn't go to a few places I wanted to. But, oh well! There's always next time!!!Meanwhile, I gotta get ready to face another gruelling new sem. ARGH!!!~FALCON, ouT!!!
