I guess the message that CSI: Crime Scene Investigation is sending is clear: Teens these days aren't as righteous and innocent as they used to be anymore. The Demetrius James case has shown us that when you flirt with life, or death, for that matter, be it your own, or others, eventually life... or death... will flirt with you... what's worse, they could even marry you, if you catch my drift...

Demetrius James messed with people's life... literally... I mean, going around in packs in the middle of the streets beating up random individuals on the street??? What's that all about??? Even animals do that for food!!! This is beyond animal!!! Beyond human!!! Eventually, he did die... Greg knocked him over... accidentally or not, I guess it sends a clear message to all of us: Don't play play...

That was one thing. We all know too well that it stops there... the following episodes had his family trying to file a lawsuit against Greg Sanders for allegedly "killing" Demetrius James... They said he would never kill, he was a smart guy, he got a 5.0 CGPA, bound for Harvard, Princeton, blablabla, whatever man!!!

The recent episode, Demetrius' brother, Aaron James, got involved with some big shot in Vegas... unintentionally, he got himself into one big mess as he was at a murder scene and helped hide evidence... After all this, the mother can still try to pin this all on Greg saying he's got something against them, that her sons never did anything wrong...

I liked what Greg said to their mother in the end, that Demetrius was a killer, and Aaron chose to hang out with Drops (the primary suspect), which got him into trouble... he added that if he'd look at it properly, it was her fault. And all she could say was, "Aaron is all I have left."

Seriously, how are we teaching our kids nowadays??? Our standard of living has risen. Real income levels have improved, and hence, people aren't as poor as they were. Society has been made to think that sometimes it's the kids at fault when they get involved in gangsterism, when they pollute their body with drugs and alcohol, when they vandalise public property... but really, whose fault is it???

Think about it... parents these days put so much emphasis in academics... they send their children to classes... tonnes and tonnes of classes just to enrich them with the knowledge of the world... as if school wasn't enough, they have to go for extra classes, remedial classes when really, they're doing fine in school... then they're forced to go for music classes, computer courses, sometimes against the wishes of the children... How often do we hear of parents taking their children to bible classes? Or how frequent do we know of parents who take time off to spend time with their children, teaching them to discern good from evil???

We can say, "Oh, we have moral education in school... let the teachers teach them..." HEY!!! YOU ARE THEIR PARENTS!!! If building up character and teaching morals is the teachers' job, what are you suppose to do??? What is YOUR role in raising your children??? Pampering them with toys??? Giving them what they want??? Is it just to feed them???

Now I'm not saying that the parents ought to blamed fully for immorality in kids these days, but that we all know it takes two hands to make a clap... The parents must play their role, and so must the children... and in this case, we need a third hand - society can and must help as well!!! From what I can see, the children are trying their best... What about the parents???

Eph 6:4 - And you, fathers, do not provoke your children to wrath, but bring them up in the training and admonition of the Lord.

Prov 29:15 - The rod and reproof give wisdom, but a child left to himself brings SHAME to his mother.

Prov 13:24 - He who spares his rod hates his son, but he who loves him disciplines him promptly.

Prov 22:6 - Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.

Eph 6:1-2 - Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. "Honour your father and mother," which is the first commandment with promise:

Listen to the wise man.
I think I've said enough. Time for bed.
