These are verses quoted from the Bible... In the book of Acts, where Saul was on the road to Damascus, he was blinded by a light... God told him that it was difficult to fight the current...
Logically, it's true... if you're on some fast flowing river... There's no way you can swim against the current... you'll probably be carried away to some no man's land...
If a big log is rolling down the hill, it's hard for you to actually stop it, let alone push it back to the top... you simply don't have the strength to do it... since your mass is not high enough...
However, if a friend suddenly comes and helps you push it... it becomes easier, though still fairly difficult... if, then, 100 people work together to stop the rolling log and push it over, then the work could probably be done...
That's one of the illustrations that is used to show that teamwork is very important if something hard is to be accomplished... I'm a big fan of teamwork!!! I really am!!! I believe nothing is impossible... and if we all work together, anything can be done!
Anyways... now we have a picture of 100 people pushing the log to the top of the hill... suddenly! Some crazy guy hops over to the other side and pushes the log back down, fighting against the other 99...
It seems the guy's job is easier since it's helped by gravity... so now, it's gravity and 1 guy vs friction and 99 other people... who will win??? It depends on whose force is greater...
So, friends, help me "push the log over the hill!!!" You know what I mean...
