Today, I learned something new about being a PSD scholar... well, I dunno if this applies to all Medical students, but for those going to Australia, they have to sit for this ISAT thingy... or better known as the International Student Something Test. In ESL class, Nian Neng was in quite a bad mood... I got to know this by trying to joke around with her and she responded with, "I don't give a s***." I wondered what it was all about... That's when I found out from the conversation around me that Neng was 6 marks off the minimum requirement to get into med school in Aussie... She was rather down... Sanjay and others around her were trying to cool her down... comfort her and all... Then, planning to make life difficult for them, asked Jay (after the class) about any lower science courses besides med... Then when Jay talked about Mass Comm... she went like, "I really don't want to let my parents down..."
Wow, it seems really hard to live up to people's high expectations as a PSD scholar, I thought... Just then, Darren came in to hang out with them... I happen to be there 'coz I was studying my Econs while waiting for my next class next door... So anyway, they talked about piercings, the latest handbag Nianz would like to carry around (at this, Sanjay and Darren and I went totally blur...), about Jay's studies, and all those stuff... well, they sorta cheered Nianz up...
Then Sanjay asked advice from Jay about something... I can't quite remember what it was... hmmm... oh, man... bad short term memory... getting old...:p
They all left about 2 something... I was the only one left in that room till the next ESL class came in... Down in the hallway, I could hear Nianz saying bye to them as she heads off to what I would think is her next class... Back in 4.12A, I wondered if I should accept the PSD scholarship if my application was approved... I really hate the pressure, you know...
